Soolip 2011

I attended the Soolip wedding event last Sunday at the Amazing Bel Air Bay Club in Pacific Palisades.  It was a lovely afternoon of delicious food, tasty acai cocktails, informative seminars, and loads of inspiration.  The highlight of the day was seeing diaphanous women strolling around in stunning Claire Pettibone dresses...well that and getting to try on pretty David Yurman jewelry :)

Inspiration :: Soft Glamour

A soft take on a glamour filled wedding.  A sparkly dress, letterpress calligraphy, vintage silver vessels, oodles of peonies.  Swoon.

Odds and Ends and Half Off fleurs

You know what's great about the day after valentines day?  1/2 off flowers, that's what.

My local market had all their roses half off, so I thought it would be fun to put together a table arrangement with some things I had lying around.  I had a friend over for dinner and it was nice to share a weeknight meal on such a cute table setting.

Feather Love

No, not that featherlove.  The real life featherlove is all kinds of fabulous, but this board is inspired by feathers, literally. 

Very hippy chic.  This board is sexy without trying too hard.

Claire and Danny :: The Madonna Inn

I am over the freakin' moon excited to bring you this wedding.  Seriously, it's amazing.  This adorable California wedding was held at  Kelsey See Canyon Winery, and The Madonna Inn. 

Claire and Danny planned the event themselves.  Claire wore her mothers dress from the 1960's.  Danny made the boutonnieres and centerpieces using succulents from their garden.  Claire's friend Sara Velas crocheted the bridesmaids hair pieces, and another friend, Laura Brown designed and made by hand Claire's wedding shoes. Claire hand made her own beaded hair pieces.  This is wedding DIY at it's finest, and the results were amazing.  Well done Claire and Danny!

Engagement Party Details

This board is from Jane and Brian's engagement party.  The event was held at CitySip, a quaint  local wine bar.  The evening was casual, candle lit, and fun for all.  Along with a wine flight, we served an artisinal cheese board, charcuterie, smoked salmon and caprese sliders.

Autumn Inspiration

I love fall weather.

Living in Los Angeles, I long for fall...the changing of the trees, the crisp air, curling up in a  worn leather chair, drinking hot tea while wearing a cashmere cable knit sweater... Sorry, sometimes my imagination gets the best of me!

Take today for instance, it was a beautiful 75 degrees, and the air was clear enough to see the mountains, but I'm not complaining. Really, I'm not.  I think maybe a drive to Angeles National forest is in order.

Anyway, this board is for a wedding inspired by fall. It is dark, sexy, decadent, and a little bit wild. 

Dusty Inspiration

NO, no, no, not those pesky little dust bunnies you might find hiding about your house.  No, this board is inspired by soft dusty colors...specifically, pink, yellow and grey.  Dusty tones are soft and romantic, yet still modern.  I haven't done a wedding like this yet, but I am looking  forward to it!
