Inspiration :: Ombre

I goofed and didn't properly schedule today's post.  Sorry for my tardiness!

So if you haven't noticed girls with Ombre hair, then get ready.  This trend is getting hotter and hotter.  It's even made it's way into the wedding world.

Here are some ways you can incorporate the Ombre trend into your wedding day.  A little or a lot - it's your call...

1960's Bouffant tutorial

Being in Palm Springs reignited my love for 1960's hair, especially those big bouffants.

LOVE this 60's bouffant hair tutorial by the always fab Berlin Hair Baby on you tube. It's a modern interpretation and super easy. Check it out...

Getting ready to ring in 2011

I am making the shift to New Years eve planning, yay!  Bubbly!  Sexy little party dresses!  Sparkly baubles! High heels! Confetti, Noise makers, Kisses at midnight. Here's what I'm thinking...

It always seems to rain on New Years so I think I'll go with a glammed up pony, why fight the weather?

What to wear?  I never have a party dress when I need one, and I usually don't want to spend a fortune on something I am going to wear once.  I'll hit up Lady in Eagle rock, it's local, affordable, and always  has the cutest little dresses. If I strike out there then there is always H&M...

The shoes make the outfit, right?  I'll head over to Vamp in Los Feliz to pick out the perfect pair.

Jewelry is always a must on New Years.  And since it's such a festive and fun holiday ditch the delicate jewelry in favor of something  bold.

I'm in Love with the Lulu Frost for Jcrew jewelry line.  Affordable heirloom pieces and  each piece is absolutely glam.

Now I'm really excited for New years!

Smokey Eye DIY

DIY smokey eye does take some skill.  I know I have never mastered it.  For my birthday this  year I went to Sephora and asked if someone could do a smokey eye application for me.  Not recommended.  I ended up looking like a hooker with a heart of gold...not the sultry look I was going for.

Here are a few smokey eye tutorials that are totally doable.  Perfect for a Holiday or bachelorette party.

Wedding and Party hair

It's fun to make your hair look all fancy and "did" every now and then.  Of course for your wedding you will want extra special hair, and most of you will get your hair done by a professional.  But, for those who can't afford it ( I did my own hair, so I know that it can be done) or if you are looking for a holiday party look, then I have some easy tutorials for you!

If you haven't discovered Berlin Hair Baby, then now is your chance.  She has some great video tutorials on youtube, and I reference them often when I am looking for something different to do with my hair.  Her Grace Kelly tutorial is one of my favorites.

Veiled

I love a good Veil.

I didn't wear one at my wedding, but I wish I would have.  Veils can be expensive, but if you live in a big city like Los Angeles or New York you can easily get one made in the fabric district for cheap .  Or...you can make one yourself.  It's pretty easy, and even the craft challenged can handle this project.  Check out the link below for a great DIY veil tutorial.

If DIY isn't your thing, then there are many roads to go down when it comes to your veil selection.  These are some of my favorites ::
